One more day to camp!

Thanks Ern. Meeting tmr after service till 12.30pm. The main agenda is games. I just thought of the collection of money, I think it'll be good if Rachel and Kay Aun be at the counter. Both of you don't have to go for the meeting. So sorry won't be able to make it coz having cam practice for watch nite.

We won't be going to Rawang because it'll be a bit taxing on those who are goin, unless after tmr's meeting we feel that there is an absolute need, then we might go on Mon, otherwise we'll plan from here and pray that it'll work out=)Haha dun worry la guys should be no problem.

I know some of you guys are a bit burnt out from all the planning and meetings, but we just have to push on for 4 more days, so hang in there guys. Do remember your quiet times, it'll give you the rejuvenation and rest you need, forget about the planning and just focus on God and enjoy His presence.

Meanwhile, I'll be sending an email on Sunday or early Monday for a short written briefing and tell them to check out the video briefing. Name tags should be done by Monday. I'll also be dividing the campers into 4 teams.

First of all, BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!! Haha yups its time to celebrate!

On a different note, I've a few updates. Shen Yen won't be able to join us for camp. Reason is that she needs to fill up and submit applications. (Correct me if I'm wrong, quite blur today). But, she'll still be helping us with the preparations.

Besides that, Ern just finished with the briefing video. Do check it out. I personally like it, altho one part was a teeny weeny embarrasing.

As you all know, Pr Aaron has agreed to speak during camp. Praise God for answering our prayers!=)

Games are coming along fine, we've come up with a few. Will update ya'll when we meet up next.

Lastly, we may be going to Rawang on Sunday to prepare for games. I think Ern, Bob Rick and Shen Yen will be goin. Stated names can make it?? Others are welcome too if free and up for it.

Update and Checklist

Hey everyone!

Firstly, an update on things. Pr Aaron is contemplating whether he is coming/speaking in the camp. He is quite tired and is also sick, so do keep him in prayer. We might need to change our plans for the sharing sessions if he is not able to make it. Will keep ya'll updated.

There are two more ppl who can make it for camp! Woot! They're Eunice and Alex.

Kay Aun will be havin exams soon (Jan 11) so I've put Shen Yen in charge of handling the name tags.

Apart from the updates, here's a check list of things that we need to do.

Bob Rick: a long game and 1 moderately long ice breaker(for the first day).

Jin Ern: Briefing video and contact Pr Aaron to confirm whether he can make it and speak.

Rachel: Get songs and burn them to CD. 2 worship sessions, prepare songs sheets, worship leaders and guitarists.

Kay Aun: Drivers. Currently we've Kerry, Jin Ern, Kay Aun, Keshia, Ruth Ng, Chee Woh. Seeing that there have been 2 more participants who signed up, may have to get one more. KIV Pr Aaron, Cicak

What we had in mind was a long game which will take roughly 1-2 hours. Yups and also two ice breakers- one for the first day in church before we leave for mbs (15-20 mins) and maybe one more the next day(5-10 mins) before worship. Bear in mind that the first one is important to really gel everyone together. We're planning to divide everyone into groups of 7-8 person each.

We need to set a direction for the sharing. We just had a sharing last Friday and have to see how we will follow up from there and take a different direction. There are 2 sessions so we need to set a direction for both. Also, we have to see how pastor Aaron can

Currently I think we have 6 drivers- Kerry, Ern, Kay Aun, Keshia, Chee Woh, Ruth Ng. I'll try to get Pr Aaron and then it should be enough.

Confirmation of Schedule- All
We need to confirm the timing for the two days. I think we may need to make some changes from the previous one so we need to discuss and confirm them.

Finance- Kay Aun and Wern Ming
We're planning to cover petrol and toll charges (petrol: RM15, toll: RM4) for each car. So one car would be around RM20. X 7 cars = RM140. Plus we'll have to discuss and allocate the budget- subsidy for each participant and miscelanneous costs. We've to keep track of payments for the camp too. I stand guilty of not paying yet.

Theme for dinner?
Currently we have the high school one. We'll have to see if this us just for the dinner or something more that we wanna connect to the session.

Hi! Sry for the late prayer list, i just came back from a loooong day out. I think the schedule is good. The gaps between each event is spacious and comfy. Pray that the activities would go well =) About the retreat, i think ill be having tuition on tuesday. Ill try to rearrange it to a different time. Latest inform by tommorow night. Heres the prayer list. Do pray fervently cuz for all we can do, God will be setting the atmosphere =D

Prayer list.

1. Pray for the people coming, that God will prepare their hearts to meet Him again, for the new year.
2. Pray for a warm atmosphere, that people of different generations and backgrounds can still meet and enjoy each other.
3. Pray for our planning(as in games, dinner etc), not easy when we wanna aim high. Let's leave it to the Most High!
4. Pray for safe journey and availability of the transporters. That the journey will be smooth and not too expensive, that there will be no complications getting help in this matter.
5. Pray for pastor, that his sharing will be wholesome and effective, guided by God to encourage and advice us, the young people.
6. Pray against the evil one, that his schemes or lies will be made ineffective against God's plan for us in this camp. Pray that no distractions will arise within each camper, that we will not be tied down by anything in our life that may withhold the effectiveness of this camp for us!

Okiez, i think those are the main things i can think about. If got anything else, do post it up as well, prayer is never fixed but can come on how the Holy Spirit wants us to pray. If got anything else that is in your hearts, pls add on! Thx!!

i think the main thing is that the form 5's are quite worried cos you know.... it's kainda their first few times hanging with us and it's an overnight thing that they may not know the place.... the subsidy may not be an issue.....

Hey, I asked my sister this morning to ask the Form 5s.

Apparently they knew about it, but they just didn't know about the price. Their response wasn't very good after hearing they had to pay that much for an overnight thing.

They more or less had the idea that we would be doing something simple and free in church. Those present were Joshua Lim, Joshua Chan, Jeremy Lee, Hui Ying, Joanna Ling, Esther Chan, Kenny, and my sister.

Quite a negative response, sadly. She said after hearing about the price, maybe 2 out of 8 of them would go. Maybe we have to give them some time. Let the price settle in first before they can confirm. I'll try to persuade them again tomorrow.

I haven't asked any of our CUG people yet. Will give the rough response by tomorrow. I told them they have to confirm by the end of this week.

Erm, on my part, the number of people who can come should be around 4 or 5 out of 8. Not too shabby

I think that it's still kinda okay.... but I guess some people are feeling quite rush and uninformed cos of the last minute thing.... unless we do something small for now but blow it up big for the re-opening of CUG? just a suggestion.... i mean.... I feel that this year's Form 5's are quite unreceptive.... they not even going for their very last Impact camp la.... I'm not getting a good "vibe".... sorry, Please consider my suggestion. Not only will it give us time to plan, but the people may feel better. =)

Sorry I just woke up.

Wow 75? Honestly that's a lot more than expected. The dates are okay, I guess. But 75? Even after subsidy? I don't wanna be a party pooper, but frankly that's really expensive for an overnight thing.

I haven't really told the Form 5s yet, is it okay if I do it tomorrow? My sister's asleep right now, don't really wanna wake her up for this. Unless it's really this urgent?

I guess I'm in, since everyone's so hyped up about it like Bob Rick said. Personally I think it costs a bit too much for one night. Must we really confirm by tomorrow? With that kind of price I think it's a bit difficult to get people to make decisions.

Are there any other viable alternatives we should consider? If none, then I'll go with this. :)

Hey I'm up for it. I'll try to call a few of them to ask whether they're up for it. Meanwhile, continue to seek God for the decision. I think the purpose of this is fellowship, thanksgiving and re-centering Him in our lives as we approach the new year. The things that are on my mind are yes, the cost (people might be put off by it), the low response rate (looking at how interested cug-ians were when announcement was given), the number of cars needed to transport the people (30 people=6 cars if response suddenly shoots up) and whether the sleepover is more of a 'fun' time than a meaningful time. I hope these will not be a de-motivation coz if there is a 'go' from the Lord (from your prayers of course), plus our full effort, we will have a great and awesome camp!
